Rwanda is party to the following MEAs:

  • Basel Convention on the Control of Trans-boundary Movements of Hazardous Wastes and their Disposal, signed on 7/6/2004,
  • Bamako Convention on the Ban of the Import into Africa and the Control of Trans-boundary Movement and Management of Hazardous Wastes within Africa, signed on 26/08/1991,
  • Minamata Convention to protect people and the environment from the harm caused by exposure tomercury, signed on 29/06/2017.
