As noted in the Forward Looking Joint Health Sector Review Report for Fiscal Year 2023/2024, this indicator is among the SDG indicators not currently monitored by the Ministry of Health. Due to a lack of comparable timeseries data, this indicator uses out-of-pocket health expenditure per capita as a proxy for the proportion of the population with positive out-of-pocket household expenditures on health exceeding 40 per cent of household discretionary budget. |

| Definitions |
Out-of-pocket household expenditure on health includes any expenditure incurred at the time-of-service use to get any type of care (promotive, preventive, curative, rehabilitative, palliative, or long-term care) including all medicines, vaccines and other pharmaceutical preparations as well as all health products, from any type of provider and for all members of the household. It is financed by a household’s income (including remittances), savings or loans but do not include any third-party payer reimbursement. |
